CenturyPly Industries has unveiled an ambitious expansion strategy with plans to invest nearly ₹2,500 crore over the next five years as it seeks to strengthen its manufacturing network and significantly expand its presence in India’s building materials sector. The Kolkata-headquartered company aims to double its annual revenue to around ₹12,000 crore by 2031 through a combination of new manufacturing facilities and capacity additions at existing plants.
The investment programme comes at a time when demand for plywood, medium-density fibreboard (MDF), veneers and other engineered wood products continues to grow, supported by India’s expanding housing, commercial real estate and infrastructure sectors. CenturyPly is positioning itself to capture this long-term demand by increasing production capacity across multiple regions.
As part of its expansion roadmap, the company plans to establish two new manufacturing facilities in Uttar Pradesh and Odisha. The proposed Uttar Pradesh unit will manufacture both plywood and MDF products, while the Odisha facility will primarily focus on plywood production. According to the company, around ₹250 crore will be invested initially in each of the new plants during the first phase of development.
In addition to these greenfield projects, CenturyPly also intends to expand its existing manufacturing facility in Punjab by adding plywood production capabilities. The company currently operates nine manufacturing units across India, including facilities in Chennai, Kolkata and Kandla, enabling it to cater to customers across key regional markets.
The planned investments are expected to improve production efficiency, strengthen supply chain capabilities and support faster deliveries across the country. Expanding manufacturing closer to high-growth markets is also likely to enhance the company’s competitiveness while reducing logistics costs.
India’s building materials industry has witnessed steady growth over the past few years, driven by increased residential construction, renovation activity and government-backed infrastructure development. Rising consumer preference for branded and quality-certified wood products has further supported demand for organised manufacturers.
With this large-scale investment programme, CenturyPly is reinforcing its long-term growth strategy while preparing for the next phase of expansion in India’s wood panel and plywood industry. The new facilities, combined with capacity additions at existing plants, are expected to play a key role in helping the company achieve its revenue target of ₹12,000 crore by 2031.
