Kerala based construction company U-Sphere has chosen Karnataka for its first major expansion beyond its home market, unveiling plans to invest ₹1,000 crore over the next three years. The company, which operates as the construction arm of labour cooperative ULCCS, is looking to tap into the strong demand for infrastructure and real estate development in Bengaluru and other fast-growing urban centres across the state.

The announcement reflects a broader trend of construction and infrastructure companies expanding into Karnataka, where rapid urbanisation, commercial growth and large-scale residential development continue to create opportunities for contractors and project developers.

Bengaluru will serve as the company’s operational base as it begins its Karnataka journey. According to U-Sphere, the city presents significant opportunities due to the increasing pace of construction activity and the growing need for efficient project execution. The company believes that labour shortages, sustainability requirements and rising expectations around project delivery timelines are creating demand for new construction approaches and workforce solutions.

Chief Executive Officer Biju Mahima said Karnataka is expected to play an important role in the company’s long-term growth plans. He noted that Bengaluru’s construction market continues to evolve, with developers increasingly seeking partners capable of delivering projects efficiently while maintaining quality and sustainability standards.

The proposed investment is expected to support the development of construction capabilities, workforce management systems and project execution infrastructure in the state. While specific projects have not yet been announced, industry observers believe the company could target opportunities across residential, commercial and institutional developments.

Karnataka has emerged as one of India’s most active construction markets, supported by strong demand from technology companies, manufacturing investments and expanding urban infrastructure. Bengaluru, in particular, continues to attract large-scale investments in housing, office space and public infrastructure projects.

For U-Sphere, the expansion represents more than just geographical diversification. It marks the beginning of a wider national growth strategy aimed at establishing a stronger presence across key Indian markets. With a planned investment of ₹1,000 crore and a focus on addressing industry challenges, the company is positioning itself to become a significant player in India’s evolving construction landscape.
