Shyam Metalics & Energy Limited has reported a strong operational performance for July 2026, driven by robust growth in its value-added product portfolio. The company’s latest monthly business update highlights healthy demand for stainless steel and aluminium foil products, while pellet and pig iron dispatches also registered significant growth, reinforcing its strategy of expanding downstream manufacturing.
Among the key highlights, stainless steel sales increased 12.92% year-on-year to 9,149 metric tonnes during July. The company also recorded a sharp improvement in pricing, with average stainless steel realisations rising more than 36% compared to the same period last year. The combination of higher sales volumes and improved pricing reflects continued demand from domestic manufacturing and industrial sectors.
Pellet dispatches emerged as another major growth driver, jumping 87.61% year-on-year to 1,65,231 metric tonnes. Pig iron sales also posted healthy growth, indicating better utilisation of the company’s recently commissioned production facilities. The strong performance demonstrates Shyam Metalics’ continued focus on strengthening its integrated manufacturing operations while improving capacity utilisation across key business segments.
The company’s aluminium foil business also maintained positive momentum. Sales volumes increased 8.24% year-on-year to 1,855 metric tonnes, supported by sustained demand from packaging, industrial and consumer applications. Aluminium foil realisations also witnessed a sharp increase, highlighting improved product mix and stronger market pricing.
While downstream products recorded encouraging growth, sponge iron sales declined significantly during the month. However, this reflects the company’s strategic shift towards consuming more sponge iron internally for producing higher-value finished products instead of selling intermediate products in the open market. This approach is expected to improve margins over the long term by increasing the share of value-added products within its portfolio.
The July business update follows several expansion initiatives undertaken by the company in recent months, including the commissioning of a new beneficiation plant and the start of commercial production at its aluminium foil facility in Odisha. These investments are expected to further strengthen production capabilities and support future revenue growth.
With India’s infrastructure, construction and manufacturing sectors continuing to drive steel demand, Shyam Metalics appears well positioned to benefit from increasing consumption of specialised and value-added metal products. The company’s integrated business model, ongoing capacity expansion and focus on premium products continue to strengthen its competitive position in the domestic steel industry.
