Karnataka is preparing for a fresh global investment push with Invest Karnataka 2027, scheduled to be held in Bengaluru from April 20 to 23 next year. The state government plans to use the four-day event to strengthen its engagement with international investors and attract fresh overseas capital across sectors.

Deputy Chief Minister G Parameshwara announced the dates following a Cabinet meeting, describing the upcoming investors’ meet as a platform focused specifically on global investment. He clarified that the event will not be positioned as a domestic investment programme, with the emphasis instead placed on overseas investors and international capital.

The move comes alongside another significant decision by the Karnataka Cabinet — the creation of a Department of Global Investment and Overseas Affairs. The proposed department is expected to play a dedicated role in facilitating foreign investment into the state.

For overseas investors and Non-Resident Indians, the department is also expected to provide a single-window mechanism. Bringing investment-related facilitation under one government framework could help streamline the process for investors looking to establish or expand operations in Karnataka.

The timing of the new department is significant as Karnataka prepares for Invest Karnataka 2027. The state has previously used its investor outreach programmes to present itself as an investment destination and attract commitments from companies operating across different industries.

The 2027 edition, however, is expected to put greater emphasis on international participation. Global investors and government representatives are expected to come together in Bengaluru, with investment opportunities in Karnataka forming the central focus of the event.

The state’s strategy comes as competition among Indian states for foreign investment continues to intensify. By creating a dedicated mechanism for global investment and pairing it with an international-focused investors’ meet, Karnataka is looking to make engagement with overseas capital more structured.

With Invest Karnataka 2027 scheduled for April, the coming months are likely to see the government step up its international outreach ahead of the event. The success of the initiative will ultimately depend on how effectively the state converts investor interest into actual investments and projects on the ground.
