Berger Paints India has commenced commercial production at its new solvent-based paint manufacturing facility in Hindupur, Andhra Pradesh, marking another step in the company’s expansion of its regional production network.
The fully automated plant has been developed with an investment of more than ₹188 crore and has an annual production capacity of 36,000 KL/MT. Commercial operations at the facility are scheduled to begin on September 9, 2026.
The new facility adds dedicated manufacturing capacity for solvent-based paints at Berger Paints’ Hindupur site, strengthening its ability to supply markets across southern India while reducing dependence on supplies from distant manufacturing locations.
Automation is a key feature of the facility. The company expects the technology-led production process to improve raw material conversion and manufacturing efficiency, while helping contain operating costs as input prices remain closely linked to crude oil and petroleum derivatives.
The Hindupur location already has an established manufacturing presence. Berger Paints had earlier developed water-based decorative paint capacity at the site, which began operations in 2014. In February 2026, the company also commenced commercial production at a resin manufacturing facility at Hindupur, with an annual capacity of 12,000 metric tonnes following an investment of more than ₹78 crore.
The latest capacity addition comes as Berger Paints continues to invest in expanding and modernising its manufacturing footprint. Local production in Andhra Pradesh is expected to support faster deliveries to southern markets and improve logistics efficiency.
The company’s recent financial performance also provides context for the expansion. Berger Paints reported a 12.7% year-on-year increase in standalone revenue in the first quarter of Financial Year 2026–27, while volumes grew 8.4%. Profit after tax increased 25.5% during the quarter.
With the new Hindupur facility, Berger Paints is strengthening its position in the solvent-based coatings segment while combining increased capacity with automation and regional manufacturing. The investment is also aligned with the company’s broader plans to expand its production base and support long-term revenue growth.
