TVS Supply Chain Solutions has entered into a strategic partnership with Japan-based Sankyu Inc as the two companies look to tap new opportunities across supply chain, logistics and engineering services in India and other markets.

The companies have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) covering a range of services, including warehousing, transportation, logistics, engineering, on-site industrial support and maintenance. The partnership will initially focus on India, where both companies see scope to serve the country’s large manufacturing and industrial ecosystem.

As part of the agreement, Sankyu intends to acquire a 0.5% equity stake in TVS Supply Chain Solutions, subject to customary regulatory approvals. The proposed investment gives the Japanese company a direct strategic interest in the Indian supply chain services business.

The partnership brings together complementary capabilities. TVS Supply Chain Solutions has an established supply chain infrastructure, customer base and market presence in India, while Sankyu brings engineering expertise, logistics capabilities and longstanding relationships with Japanese industrial companies.

The companies are particularly looking to serve Japanese businesses operating in India. More than 1,400 Japanese firms have manufacturing and industrial operations across the country, creating a sizeable potential customer base for integrated logistics and engineering solutions.

Beyond India, the partnership is expected to explore opportunities across Asia, the Middle East, Africa and other international markets where the two companies already have established operations.

For TVS Supply Chain Solutions, the tie-up comes as manufacturers increasingly seek integrated partners that can handle multiple parts of their industrial operations rather than relying on separate logistics and engineering providers. The companies plan to evaluate opportunities jointly and identify projects where their respective capabilities can be combined.

A joint steering committee with representatives from both organisations will oversee the partnership. The committee will assess business opportunities, guide joint initiatives and coordinate the rollout of integrated services for industrial customers.

The agreement also strengthens the relationship between Indian and Japanese industrial ecosystems, particularly at a time when manufacturing companies are looking to build more resilient and efficient supply chains.

For TVS Supply Chain Solutions, the partnership could open another avenue for growth by combining its domestic network with Sankyu’s industrial and engineering expertise. For Sankyu, the proposed stake and wider collaboration provide a route to deepen its presence in India’s expanding industrial services market.
