Tamil Nadu has strengthened its position as one of India’s leading investment destinations by signing fresh investment agreements worth ₹425 crore with four global organisations. The new projects, announced through Guidance Tamil Nadu, are expected to generate more than 2,900 jobs while boosting the state’s advanced manufacturing, research, higher education and Global Capability Centre (GCC) ecosystem.
The agreements were signed in the presence of Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay during an investment event organised by Guidance Tamil Nadu. The latest investments underline the state’s continued focus on attracting global companies looking to expand their operations in India.
Among the biggest announcements was South Korean company MotiveLink’s decision to invest ₹300 crore in an electric vehicle components manufacturing facility at SIPCOT Pillaipakkam in Kancheepuram district. The project is expected to create around 1,500 direct and indirect jobs. The facility will manufacture key EV components, including coils, printed circuit boards, transformers, magnetic components, housings and filters for export to international markets.
The investment is considered significant as Tamil Nadu secured the project despite competition from neighbouring Andhra Pradesh. MotiveLink also plans to anchor a wider ecosystem of South Korean automotive suppliers in the state, further strengthening Tamil Nadu’s electric mobility supply chain.
German wind turbine manufacturer Nordex also announced plans to establish an engineering and research centre in Chennai, creating around 1,000 jobs during the first phase. Meanwhile, Swiss insurance major Chubb will establish its first Global Capability Centre in Chennai with an initial workforce of about 220 employees.
Adding to the state’s higher education landscape, the University of Western Australia will invest around ₹125 crore to establish its first Indian campus in Chennai’s Velachery. The 50,000-square-foot campus is scheduled to begin operations in October 2026 and is expected to create more than 200 jobs while strengthening academic and research collaboration between India and Australia.
With fresh investments flowing into electric vehicles, engineering, research, education and GCC sectors, Tamil Nadu continues to reinforce its reputation as a preferred destination for global companies seeking long-term growth opportunities in India.
