Sundaram Home Finance is stepping up its expansion in smaller towns across Central Tamil Nadu, with the company targeting nearly ₹200 crore in Emerging Business disbursements during the current year.

The housing finance company opened a new Emerging Business branch in Mannargudi on September 25, adding to its growing network in the region. The company is also preparing to enter Karaikal and Thiruthuraipoondi, where it plans to open new branches in the near future.

The expansion comes as smaller towns become an increasingly important part of Sundaram Home Finance’s Emerging Business strategy. The company currently has close to 25 branches in Central Tamil Nadu, covering towns such as Kumbakonam, Manapparai, Aranthangi, Pudukottai and Pattukottai, along with larger markets including Trichy and Thanjavur.

The Emerging Business segment focuses on smaller-ticket financial requirements. It includes working capital loans of up to ₹20 lakh and affordable housing finance of up to ₹40 lakh.

Sundaram Home Finance has also been expanding its network beyond Central Tamil Nadu. Last week, it opened an Emerging Business branch in Valliyoor near Tirunelveli. During September, the company also entered three smaller towns in Andhra Pradesh. Adoni, Yemminganur and Amalapuram as part of its wider expansion.

The company currently operates more than 100 Emerging Business branches across Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

According to Managing Director D. Lakshminarayanan, the company’s expansion is focused on reaching deeper into Tier 3 and Tier 4 towns. He said smaller towns are contributing to growth in the Emerging Business segment and that the latest branch additions are intended to strengthen the company’s presence in these markets.

Sundaram Home Finance’s recent financial performance also provides context to its expansion. The company reported a net profit of ₹85 crore on disbursements of ₹1,665 crore in the first quarter of the current year. Its Assets Under Management increased 11% during the quarter to ₹20,325 crore as of June 30, 2026.

The company offers home loans, plot loans, home improvement and extension loans, affordable housing finance, loans against property and small-ticket loans for entrepreneurs.
