Suba Hotels Ltd is expanding its presence in India’s hospitality market with the signing of two new properties in Mumbai and Kerala under its Choice Hotels portfolio. The additions will operate under the Comfort Inn and Clarion brands, catering to business and leisure travellers in two distinct markets.
The first property, a 46-room Comfort Inn, will be located in Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC), one of the city’s prominent commercial and business districts. The hotel is being developed by Triumph Developer Private Limited and will focus primarily on corporate travellers visiting the financial and commercial hub.
The property is expected to feature modern facilities designed to meet the requirements of business guests. Once operational, it will become Suba Hotels sixth hotel in Mumbai, further strengthening the company’s presence in the city’s competitive hospitality market.
The second addition is a 48-room Clarion property in Bekal, Kerala. Positioned as a sea-facing resort, the hotel is being developed by Bekal Sea View Resort and is expected to target both leisure travellers and business guests.
Unlike the Mumbai property, which is primarily designed for corporate accommodation, the Bekal resort will focus on a combination of hospitality and wellness experiences. Its planned facilities include a spa, wellness centre, rooftop infinity swimming pool and a fully equipped gymnasium. The property will offer rooms across different categories.
Suba Hotels CEO Mubeen Mehta said both properties are expected to open in the last quarter of the current financial year. He noted that the two developments address different customer segments, with Comfort Inn positioned as a business hotel and Clarion catering to the leisure market alongside business travel.
The company has been expanding its hotel portfolio following its initial public offering (IPO). The latest signings also reflect its strategy of growing through multiple hospitality brands under the Choice Hotels portfolio.
For Mumbai, the new Comfort Inn will add accommodation capacity in a major business district where demand is closely linked to corporate activity. In Bekal, the Clarion resort will strengthen the organised hospitality offering in a coastal destination known for leisure tourism.
With a combined inventory of 94 rooms, the two projects will broaden Suba Hotels’ presence across business and leisure hospitality. Their planned openings in the final quarter of the financial year will be the next milestone to watch as the company continues to expand its footprint.
