PM Modi to Lay Foundation for ₹2,360 Crore Telangana Industrial Smart City

Telangana is set to witness a major industrial boost with the launch of the Integrated Industrial Smart City project at Zaheerabad. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to lay the foundation stone for the ambitious development on May 10, marking a significant step in the state’s industrial expansion plans.

The project, being developed at an estimated investment of ₹2,360.54 crore, is part of the larger Hyderabad–Nagpur Industrial Corridor. Spread across more than 3,200 acres, the industrial smart city is expected to emerge as one of the key manufacturing and investment destinations in South India.

Union Coal Minister G Kishan Reddy stated that the project will play an important role in strengthening Telangana’s industrial ecosystem and attracting advanced manufacturing industries. According to officials, the smart city is expected to draw investments of over ₹10,000 crore and generate nearly 1.74 lakh employment opportunities by 2029.

The proposed industrial city will feature modern infrastructure with dedicated industrial zones for multiple sectors. Apart from manufacturing facilities, the development will also include residential areas, commercial spaces, educational institutions, and skill development centres. The integrated planning approach aims to create a self-sustaining industrial township capable of supporting long-term economic growth.



The project will also focus on sustainability and technology-driven infrastructure. Authorities are planning eco-friendly systems, efficient logistics networks, and plug-and-play industrial facilities to simplify business operations for investors and manufacturers.



Its strategic location along the Hyderabad–Nagpur Industrial Corridor is expected to significantly improve connectivity and logistics efficiency. Industry experts believe the project could accelerate industrial growth in western Telangana while supporting the expansion of ancillary industries and MSMEs in the region.



The Integrated Industrial Smart City is expected to strengthen Telangana’s position as a preferred investment destination while contributing to employment generation and infrastructure-led economic development in the coming years.
