FedEx is set to significantly scale up its operations in India with the launch of a new 60,000 square foot integrated hub at the AI SATS Logistics Park in Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport. This expansion comes at a time when the airport is actively working toward doubling its annual cargo handling capacity to one million tonnes, positioning Bengaluru as one of India’s most influential export gateways.
The upcoming hub is designed with a strong focus on speed, accuracy and automation, reflecting the growing demand for time sensitive and high value logistics solutions. With a throughput capacity of 4,000 packages per hour, the facility is equipped with advanced technologies including automated processing systems, mechanised conveyor lines and a high speed dynamic dimensioning machine that enhances sorting efficiency. These capabilities are expected to significantly reduce processing time and improve the overall reliability of cargo movements.
According to Suvendu Choudhury, Vice President of India Operations at FedEx, the new hub represents a major step forward in modernising India’s logistics backbone. He noted that integrating intelligent processes with advanced automation will help businesses of all sizes strengthen their global market reach. The facility is expected to play a crucial role in supporting sectors such as pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, electronics and other high value export categories that rely heavily on efficient logistics networks.
The expansion also aligns with India’s broader goal of improving its export competitiveness. As global supply chains evolve, logistics infrastructure that offers speed, transparency and reliability becomes essential for enabling long term growth. Bengaluru, already a key technology and innovation hub, is steadily emerging as a logistics powerhouse thanks to infrastructure investments of this nature.
With the new integrated hub, FedEx reinforces its commitment to India’s fast growing logistics ecosystem. The development is anticipated to create smoother export pathways, offer improved delivery performance and strengthen connections between Indian businesses and global markets. As trade volumes continue to rise, the facility is expected to contribute meaningfully to India’s export driven economic aspirations.
