JK Cement Reports Higher Q2 Profit on Strong Sales Growth

JK Cement reported a rise in quarterly profit and revenue for the September quarter of Financial Year 2026–27, supported by stronger sales volumes across its grey and white cement businesses.

The company’s consolidated net profit increased 6.31% year-on-year to ₹169.3 crore, compared with ₹159.25 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. Revenue from operations climbed 23.65% to ₹3,733.42 crore from ₹3,019.20 crore, according to its regulatory filing.

The results reflect improved sales volumes, although higher expenses continued to put pressure on the company’s cost structure.

JK Cement recorded a 21% increase in grey cement sales volume to 5.37 million tonnes during the quarter. White cement sales also moved higher, rising 13% to 0.49 million tonnes. The growth across both categories helped support the increase in revenue.

However, total expenses rose 24.34% year-on-year to ₹3,515.71 crore, slightly outpacing revenue growth. Total income, including other income, increased 22.84% to ₹3,771.29 crore.

The company said its performance reflected robust volume growth and higher profitability despite cost pressures. The figures indicate that stronger demand and sales contributed to the improved financial performance, even as operating costs remained a factor to watch.

JK Maxx Paints Plans ₹130 Crore Telangana Plant

Alongside its quarterly results, JK Cement disclosed a capacity expansion plan for its paints business through wholly owned subsidiary JK Maxx Paints.

The company’s board approved a proposal to establish a new water-based paint manufacturing plant at Raghunadhapalem in Telangana’s Suryapet district. The facility will have an annual production capacity of 75,000 kilolitres, with estimated capital expenditure of ₹130 crore.

The investment will be funded from the ₹600 crore allocation previously approved by the board for the paints business. The plant is expected to be commissioned within 12 months of construction commencing.

JK Maxx Paints currently operates a manufacturing facility at Bhiwadi in Rajasthan, with annual capacity of 73,000 kilolitres. The facility is running at around 60% utilisation. The company expects it to reach full utilisation by Financial Year 2027–28, creating the need for additional capacity.

The proposed Telangana facility would expand manufacturing capacity and strengthen the company’s presence in the water-based paints segment.

For JK Cement, the latest quarter combines growth in its core cement business with a planned investment in paints. Future performance will depend on sales momentum, cost management and the execution of its expansion plans.
