UAE, Telangana Explore Strategic Partnership on Bharat Future City at WEF 2026

Telangana has taken a significant step towards strengthening global partnerships, with the state leadership holding high-level discussions with the United Arab Emirates at the World Economic Forum 2026. Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, leading the Telangana Rising delegation, met UAE Minister of Economy and Tourism Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri to explore avenues for cooperation in large-scale infrastructure and investment-led development.

The discussions centred on the ambitious Bharat Future City project, which the Telangana government has positioned as a future-ready urban and industrial hub. Spread across 30,000 acres, Bharat Future City is envisioned as India’s first Net-Zero Greenfield Smart City, designed to integrate sustainability, advanced technology and inclusive urban growth. The project forms a key pillar of the broader Telangana Rising 2047 vision.

During the interaction, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy outlined the state’s long-term roadmap to transform Telangana into a 3 trillion dollar economy by 2047. He highlighted the state’s focus on infrastructure-led growth, global investment partnerships and sectoral diversification as core drivers of this vision. The Chief Minister also pointed to the strong interest already shown by global corporations, including Marubeni and Sembcorp, which are part of the Bharat Future City initiative.

Bharat Future City has been planned as a multi-sectoral ecosystem with dedicated zones for artificial intelligence, education, healthcare, manufacturing, residential development and entertainment. Its design aligns with global sustainability benchmarks, making it attractive for international investors seeking long-term value and environmental responsibility.

UAE Economy Minister Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri welcomed the Telangana government’s vision and expressed the UAE’s willingness to partner with the state. He proposed the formation of a joint task force comprising officials from both sides to ensure faster execution and smoother coordination of projects. He also suggested exploring a strategic partnership between the UAE’s food cluster and Telangana, with a focus on strengthening the rural and agriculture-based economy.

Senior ministers, including IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu and Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, along with senior officials, were part of the delegation. The engagement at WEF 2026 underlines Telangana’s growing efforts to position itself as a global investment destination with future-focused urban development at its core.
