Larsen & Toubro has further strengthened its infrastructure footprint in Telangana after securing the Phase 2 contract for the Hyderabad greenfield radial road project. The latest order marks a key milestone in the state’s ambitious road development programme aimed at improving long term regional mobility and supporting urban expansion around Hyderabad.
Under the scope of Phase 2, Larsen & Toubro will construct a 3.6 kilometre long viaduct along with associated structures such as minor bridges, underpasses and culverts. The project also includes the development of service roads, retention structures and a comprehensive stormwater drainage network. In addition, the contract covers footpaths, a dedicated cycle track and landscaping works, reflecting an integrated approach to urban road design.
This package forms part of the larger 22.3 kilometre long, access controlled radial road being developed in Ranga Reddy district. Once completed, the corridor will serve as a vital link between Hyderabad’s Outer Ring Road and the upcoming Regional Ring Road, significantly improving connectivity between the city core and emerging growth corridors.
The new radial road is expected to enhance access to several strategic destinations including major IT hubs, the Electronic City, Young India Skills University and the proposed Bharat Future City. Improved connectivity is likely to support faster commuting, reduce congestion on existing routes and encourage planned development along the corridor.
Infrastructure experts note that projects of this scale play a critical role in shaping Hyderabad’s next phase of growth. With the city expanding steadily beyond its traditional limits, high capacity road networks are essential to support residential, commercial and institutional development in peripheral areas.
For Larsen & Toubro, the order reinforces its position as a leading player in complex urban infrastructure projects. The company has been actively involved in building highways, metro systems and urban transport corridors across India. The Hyderabad radial road project aligns with L&T’s broader focus on delivering large scale infrastructure that supports sustainable urbanisation.
As Telangana continues to invest in road and transport infrastructure, projects such as the greenfield radial road are expected to create long term economic value while improving the overall quality of urban life in and around Hyderabad.
