Adani Airport Holdings has achieved a major milestone with the environmental clearance granted for its proposed ₹136-crore luxury hotel at Thiruvananthapuram International Airport. This approval marks an important step in strengthening the airport’s position as a key gateway to Kerala while supporting the Adani Group’s larger goal of creating modern, integrated airport ecosystems across the country.
The upcoming five-storey hotel will house 240 premium rooms and span 8,000 square metres within the airport’s city-side area. Designed to cater to international travellers, business visitors and airline crews, the facility aims to elevate the hospitality experience for passengers arriving in and departing from Kerala’s capital. With Vizhinjam Port emerging as a major maritime and cargo hub, the hotel is also expected to serve foreign crew members from cargo vessels, expanding its relevance beyond aviation.
Sustainability is a core pillar of the project. The hotel’s blueprint includes a dedicated green belt, advanced water recycling systems and energy-saving technologies. These features reflect the Adani Group’s commitment to developing environmentally conscious infrastructure that aligns with global best practices in airport-linked hospitality.
From an economic perspective, the project is set to generate approximately 300 direct jobs and nearly 900 indirect employment opportunities. This boost is expected to have a positive ripple effect across local businesses such as travel operators, transport services, restaurants and retail establishments. Increased activity around the airport will further support Thiruvananthapuram’s tourism-led economic growth.
Officials involved in the project have noted that the hotel will play a pivotal role in enhancing passenger amenities and improving the overall travel experience. As part of the Adani Group’s broader city-side development plan, the hotel complements ongoing efforts to introduce modern commercial and leisure infrastructure within the airport zone.
Construction is expected to be completed within three years, positioning the facility as a key addition to Kerala’s hospitality landscape. With rising international arrivals and the strategic importance of the Vizhinjam Port corridor, the new luxury hotel is set to contribute meaningfully to Thiruvananthapuram’s evolving role as a prominent travel, business and tourism destination.
