Ashirvad by Aliaxis Announces Major Hyderabad Investment to Strengthen India Expansion

Ashirvad by Aliaxis, one of India’s prominent manufacturers of plumbing and water-management products, has announced a significant expansion strategy aimed at strengthening its position across key regions of the country. The company is preparing to commission a major greenfield manufacturing facility in Hyderabad, marking its single biggest investment in India. This development reinforces the company’s commitment to consolidating its leadership in South India, where it already operates four of its seven nationwide plants.

The brand, recognised for its strong product portfolio including CPVC pipes, SWR drainage systems and a wide range of water-management solutions, sees India as a strategic and fast-growing market. According to Thierry Vanlancker, Managing Director of Aliaxis, nearly 20 per cent of the company’s global revenue currently comes from India, making it the third-largest market for the Brussels-headquartered group. Aliaxis estimates that its India business could reach one billion euro in revenue by 2030, driven by consistent demand and increasing infrastructure spending across the country.

As part of its expansion in Eastern India, Ashirvad recently inaugurated its first integrated distribution centre near Kolkata. Spread across a warehouse of one lakh square feet and a yard of 1.5 lakh square feet, the centre has been designed to improve customer experience through faster order fulfilment. The Eastern region is the company’s second-largest market after the South, and Ashirvad is focusing on strengthening its supply chain and distribution capabilities in the region.

The company has also undertaken a major upgrade at its Durgapur facility, where a state-of-the-art compounding unit is being added. This upgrade is expected to transform the plant into a more self-sufficient and automated hub, increasing production capacity through new CPVC and SWR lines. Ashirvad believes this investment will enhance operational efficiency, improve product consistency and create new employment opportunities in the region.

With India’s pipes and fittings market estimated at ₹70,000 to ₹80,000 crore, Ashirvad currently holds an 8 to 9 per cent market share. Through its combination of manufacturing expansion, distribution upgrades and product innovation, the company aims to strengthen its market leadership and continue delivering high-quality plumbing and water-management solutions to customers across India.
