Steel Exchange India has posted a record monthly production of 24,823.509 metric tonnes of Re-Bar in August 2026, marking a significant improvement in output following the commissioning of its new Reheating Furnace.
The company’s August production is the highest monthly Re-Bar output reported in the source material and reflects improved utilization at its rolling mill. The new furnace contributed an additional 7,465.288 MT to production, helping raise the company’s overall manufacturing capability.
Steel Exchange India is also strengthening its raw material supply chain. In September 2026, the company entered into a four-year Memorandum of Understanding with NMDC Limited for the supply of iron ore fines from Visakhapatnam. The arrangement is expected to support more consistent raw material availability while helping reduce logistics costs and transit time.
The company’s operational improvement comes alongside stronger financial performance. Steel Exchange India reported standalone net profit of ₹15.03 crore for the First Quarter of Financial Year 2026–27, compared with ₹10.23 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year. Based on the figures cited by SAHI Markets, this represents an increase of nearly 47% year-on-year.
Financial risk indicators have also improved. Infomerics upgraded the company’s long-term credit rating by two notches to IVR BBB+/Stable in September, citing an improved financial risk profile and stronger operational cash flows. The company had also repaid a ₹15 crore term loan in June 2026 as part of its debt reduction efforts.
Steel Exchange India’s recent performance comes at a time when demand from infrastructure, construction and other steel-consuming sectors remains important for domestic producers. The company operates an integrated manufacturing setup covering sponge iron, billets, rolling operations and captive power, giving it greater control over several stages of production.
The company is now focused on sustaining higher utilization of the newly commissioned Reheating Furnace. Further improvement in production volumes, raw material availability and operating margins will be key factors to watch over the coming quarters.
The source also cites a reported September 2026 Re-Bar production figure of 25,095.035 MT. However, that figure has not been independently verified and is therefore not treated as a confirmed record in this report.
