Shyam Metalics Reports Strong August Sales Led by Stainless Steel

Shyam Metalics and Energy Ltd. reported a strong performance across several product segments in August 2026, with stainless steel, aluminium foil and speciality alloys recording notable year-on-year volume growth.

Consolidated stainless steel sales increased 16.4% from a year earlier and 19.4% from July to 10,920 tonnes during August. The improvement came alongside a rise in steel realisations, with average realisation increasing 45.5% year-on-year and 2.2% month-on-month to ₹1,83,032 per tonne.

Aluminium foil sales also remained on a strong growth trajectory. Volumes rose 27.4% year-on-year and 3.2% sequentially to 1,915 tonnes. Average realisation for the segment increased by more than 21% year-on-year, although it declined 4.3% from the previous month to ₹4,85,471 per tonne.

The company’s speciality alloys business recorded sales of 19,002 tonnes in August, representing an increase of nearly 28% year-on-year and more than 9% compared with July. Average realisation rose by over 23% year-on-year to ₹1,11,788 per tonne.

Carbon Steel Sales Show Mixed Trend

Performance across the carbon steel portfolio was more mixed. Carbon steel long sales, comprising steel billets and long steel products, increased nearly 3% year-on-year to 142,987 tonnes. However, volumes declined more than 7% compared with July. Average realisation rose over 2% year-on-year to ₹42,679 per tonne.

Carbon steel flat sales, which include cold rolled coils or sheets, crash barriers and hot rolled tubes or pipes, delivered a sharper increase. Volumes more than doubled year-on-year to 29,262 tonnes and rose nearly 43% month-on-month. Average realisation stood at ₹82,395 per tonne, up nearly 14% from a year earlier.

Across its metallics portfolio, Shyam Metalics sold 334,957 tonnes in August, an increase of nearly 28% year-on-year. Average realisation for metallics was ₹20,039 per tonne, around 9% higher than the corresponding period last year.

The August update comes after the company reported consolidated revenue of ₹5,455 crore and net profit of ₹345 crore for the June quarter, underlining the broader momentum across its operations.
