SAEL Industries has commissioned 600 MW AC solar power projects in the Rayalaseema region of Andhra Pradesh, marking a major step in the state’s renewable energy expansion. The projects were completed within 11 months of signing an agreement with the Andhra Pradesh government and involve an investment of ₹3,000 crore.

The large-scale solar facilities are among the first major renewable energy projects completed under Andhra Pradesh’s Integrated Clean Energy Policy 2024. The development reflects the state’s growing focus on clean power generation, faster project execution and long-term energy security.

The projects were formally inaugurated in Kurnool by Nara Lokesh, Andhra Pradesh Minister for Information Technology, Electronics and Communications, Real Time Governance and Human Resources Development. Officials said the quick completion of the projects highlights Andhra Pradesh’s commitment to accelerating renewable energy capacity and creating a stronger clean energy ecosystem.

Rayalaseema has emerged as an important region for solar energy development due to its land availability, solar potential and improving power infrastructure. The commissioning of 600 MW AC capacity is expected to support the state’s clean power supply while also contributing to India’s broader renewable energy targets.

The investment is also expected to create opportunities across project operations, maintenance, local services and supporting infrastructure. Large solar projects of this scale can help attract further clean energy investments into Andhra Pradesh, especially as the state positions itself as a key destination for renewable energy and green industrial growth.

For SAEL Industries, the commissioning strengthens its renewable energy portfolio and underlines its ability to execute utility-scale solar projects within tight timelines. The company’s progress also comes at a time when India is rapidly expanding solar, wind and hybrid power capacity to reduce dependence on conventional energy sources.

With the Integrated Clean Energy Policy 2024 providing a policy framework for faster approvals and investment support, Andhra Pradesh is expected to see more clean energy projects in the coming years. The SAEL Industries project is likely to serve as an important benchmark for future renewable energy development in the state.
