Kirby India Breaks Ground on Fourth Manufacturing Facility in Tamil Nadu

Kirby Building Systems & Structures India Pvt. Ltd. has begun work on its fourth manufacturing facility in India, with the new plant coming up at Manapparai near Trichy in Tamil Nadu.

The project marks another significant expansion for Kirby India as the company looks to strengthen its manufacturing presence closer to industrial markets in Southern India. The facility is being developed across approximately 33.2 acres and is expected to begin commercial operations by mid-2027.

Once operational, the new plant will add an annual manufacturing capacity of 100,000 metric tonnes. This will take Kirby India’s overall manufacturing capacity from the existing 300,000 metric tonnes to 400,000 metric tonnes a year.

The expansion is expected to improve the company’s ability to respond to demand from customers across Tamil Nadu, the wider Southern Indian market and other key regions.

Kirby India is a subsidiary of Alghanim Industries and has been operating in India for more than 26 years. The company provides pre-engineered steel buildings and structural steel solutions for industrial and infrastructure applications.

The Manapparai facility is planned as a state-of-the-art manufacturing unit, complementing Kirby India’s existing network. The company is also continuing to invest in engineering capabilities, automation and digital technologies as demand for faster and scalable industrial construction solutions grows.

For Kirby, the Tamil Nadu investment comes as the group looks toward its next phase of growth after five decades under Alghanim Industries. The company sees the new facility as an opportunity to expand capacity while bringing its manufacturing capabilities closer to customers in one of India’s key industrial regions.

The project also reflects the broader shift in industrial construction towards engineered and factory-produced building systems. By increasing local manufacturing capacity, Kirby India aims to deliver steel-building solutions with greater speed, consistency and flexibility.

With commercial operations targeted for mid-2027, the Manapparai facility is set to become an important addition to Kirby India’s manufacturing network and its long-term expansion strategy in the Indian market.
