IHG Hotels & Resorts and Indian Hotels Company Ltd (IHCL) have expanded their hospitality portfolios in India with the launch of new hotel properties in Vijayawada and Mumbai, reinforcing their growth strategies in key commercial and tourism markets.

IHG Hotels & Resorts has opened the 90-room Holiday Inn Express & Suites in Vijayawada, marking the brand’s entry into one of Andhra Pradesh’s fastest-growing business and transportation hubs. Strategically located near Amaravati, the state’s planned capital region, the hotel is expected to cater to rising demand from corporate travellers, government officials, business executives and leisure visitors.

Vijayawada has emerged as a major economic and connectivity centre in Andhra Pradesh, supported by ongoing infrastructure development, industrial investments and growing commercial activity. The addition of a globally recognised hospitality brand is expected to further strengthen the city’s accommodation infrastructure and support regional economic growth.

Meanwhile, Indian Hotels Company Ltd (IHCL) has launched Bandra House Mumbai under its premium SeleQtions brand. The boutique hotel features 39 rooms and is located in Bandra, one of Mumbai’s most vibrant and culturally significant neighbourhoods.

Designed to reflect the unique character of Bandra, the property incorporates elements inspired by the locality’s heritage, art and lifestyle. The launch aligns with IHCL’s strategy of expanding its portfolio of experiential and destination-driven hotels across India.

The opening of these two properties highlights the continued momentum in India’s hospitality sector, driven by increasing domestic travel, business mobility and growing demand for quality accommodation. Hotel operators are actively expanding into both metropolitan centres and emerging business destinations to capitalise on rising travel demand and evolving customer preferences.

Industry experts believe the hospitality sector will continue to benefit from infrastructure development, improving connectivity and economic growth across major Indian cities. The latest expansions by IHG and IHCL demonstrate confidence in the long-term growth potential of India’s tourism, business travel and hospitality markets.

With new properties in Vijayawada and Mumbai, both hotel operators have strengthened their presence in strategically important locations while enhancing accommodation options for business and leisure travellers alike.
