CREDAI has decided to move NATCON 2026 to India, following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s appeal to reduce non essential foreign travel and conserve foreign exchange. The decision marks an important shift for one of the real estate sector’s major industry conferences, which was earlier planned to be held in Amsterdam.

The Confederation of Real Estate Developers’ Associations of India said the move reflects the industry’s commitment to national priorities and responsible participation in India’s economic growth journey. NATCON is one of CREDAI’s flagship events and brings together developers, policymakers, investors, consultants and other stakeholders connected with the real estate and infrastructure ecosystem.

By shifting the event to India, CREDAI is expected to support domestic hospitality, travel, event management and allied service sectors. The decision is also likely to help more Indian developers and regional real estate players participate in the conference without the high cost of international travel.

The development comes at a time when India’s real estate sector is witnessing strong momentum across residential, commercial, retail and industrial segments. Housing demand has remained steady in major cities, while infrastructure expansion, urban development and improved connectivity continue to support new project launches.

Industry observers believe hosting NATCON 2026 in India could create a wider platform for discussions on housing policy, sustainable construction, affordable housing, regulatory reforms, urban planning and investment opportunities. It may also help highlight India’s growing role as one of the world’s most active real estate markets.

CREDAI’s decision is also seen as a symbolic response to the Prime Minister’s call for greater economic discipline and stronger domestic spending. Instead of taking a large delegation abroad, the industry body is choosing to create value within the country.

The revised venue and schedule for NATCON 2026 are expected to be announced later. With the event now moving to India, the conference could attract wider participation from developers, government agencies, financial institutions and construction industry stakeholders across the country.
