Adani Airport Holdings has entered into a strategic partnership with IHG Hotels & Resorts to develop five new hotels across major airport locations in India, strengthening the country’s airport-linked hospitality and commercial infrastructure network.

The proposed hotels will be developed near airports in Jaipur, Mangaluru, Thiruvananthapuram and Navi Mumbai. Together, the projects are expected to add more than 1,500 rooms, catering to rising passenger traffic, business travellers and tourism demand around key aviation hubs.

The partnership will also introduce IHG’s luxury lifestyle brand Kimpton Hotels to the Indian market for the first time. In addition to Kimpton properties, the developments will include hotels under the Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express brands, targeting both premium and mid-scale hospitality segments.

Adani Airport Holdings, which currently operates eight airports across India, has been actively expanding its non-aeronautical business portfolio. The group has been focusing on commercial development around airport terminals to create integrated urban ecosystems that combine hospitality, retail, entertainment and business infrastructure.

Industry observers believe airport-led commercial development is becoming a major growth driver for infrastructure companies as passenger traffic continues to increase across India. Hotel projects near airports are expected to witness steady demand from transit passengers, airline crews, corporate travellers and international visitors.

The Adani Group plans to commercially develop nearly 665 land parcels adjoining airports as part of its long-term infrastructure strategy. The latest partnership with IHG Hotels is expected to play a significant role in transforming airport zones into large mixed-use economic centres.

The expansion also reflects growing investor confidence in India’s aviation and hospitality sectors, supported by rising domestic air travel and increasing tourism activity. With multiple large-scale airport modernization projects currently underway, hospitality infrastructure around airports is expected to emerge as a key investment segment over the coming years.
