Vedanta Aluminium Metal Limited has started its journey as an independent listed company with a strong financial performance, reporting a sharp increase in both revenue and profitability during the first quarter of FY2026-27. The company posted a net profit of ₹5,629 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, compared to ₹1,781 crore in the corresponding period last year.

Revenue from operations rose nearly 45% year-on-year to a record ₹21,105 crore, reflecting improved operational performance, stronger aluminium sales and a favourable product mix. The quarter marks Vedanta Aluminium’s first earnings announcement since the completion of Vedanta Limited’s demerger into separate listed businesses.

Operating performance also improved significantly during the quarter. EBITDA surged 134% year-on-year to an all-time high of ₹10,499 crore, while the EBITDA margin expanded to a record 50%, compared to 31% in the same quarter last year. The company attributed the improvement to higher production volumes, better cost efficiencies and an increasing contribution from value-added aluminium products.

The board of directors has declared the company’s first interim dividend of ₹8 per equity share for FY27. The dividend payout is expected to total approximately ₹3,128.55 crore, with August 5, 2026 fixed as the record date for determining eligible shareholders.

Commenting on the performance, Rajesh Kumar, Whole-Time Director and Chief Executive Officer of Vedanta Aluminium, said the company had begun its independent journey with robust operational and financial results. He noted that the company’s focus on resource security, operational integration and value-added products continues to strengthen its long-term competitiveness despite a dynamic global environment.

Chief Financial Officer Anup Agarwal described the results as a strong beginning for the newly listed company. He said Vedanta Aluminium enters this new phase with a strengthened balance sheet, improved credit profile and greater financial flexibility to pursue future growth opportunities.

Along with the quarterly results, the board also approved the Vedanta Aluminium Metal Limited Employee Stock Option Plan 2026 and the Employee Share Purchase Plan 2026, subject to shareholder approval. The company believes these initiatives will help align employee interests with its long-term growth strategy as it expands its position in the global aluminium industry.
