CREDAI Chennai has welcomed the launch of the Registration Department’s STAR 3.0 project by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin, describing it as a timely and much-needed reform in the state’s property registration ecosystem. The initiative is aimed at strengthening digital governance while improving service delivery for citizens, developers and investors across Tamil Nadu.
According to CREDAI Chennai, STAR 3.0 reflects the state government’s continued focus on technology-driven public services. The project is expected to streamline registration processes, reduce procedural delays and enhance transparency, making property transactions smoother and more reliable for the public.
Commenting on the development, Mohamed Ali, President of CREDAI Chennai, said the launch of STAR 3.0 is a positive step that addresses long-standing challenges in property registration. He noted that improved digital systems will help eliminate inefficiencies, ensure better record management and provide greater clarity for all stakeholders involved in real estate transactions.
Mohamed Ali further stated that transparent and efficient registration services play a critical role in building trust among homebuyers and investors. With real estate being a major driver of economic activity, digital reforms such as STAR 3.0 contribute significantly to market confidence and long-term sectoral growth.
Industry observers believe that STAR 3.0 will also support Chennai’s real estate market by making processes faster and more predictable. Simplified registration procedures can help reduce transaction costs, improve compliance and encourage formal documentation, benefiting both end-users and developers.
CREDAI Chennai highlighted that the adoption of advanced digital platforms aligns with Tamil Nadu’s broader vision of citizen-centric governance. By leveraging technology, the Registration Department can offer services that are accessible, accountable and efficient, reducing dependency on manual processes.
The association expressed confidence that STAR 3.0 will enhance ease of doing business in the real estate sector while delivering better experiences for the general public. CREDAI Chennai reiterated its support for government initiatives that promote transparency, efficiency and sustainable growth in the state’s real estate and infrastructure landscape.
