Artefact Projects has been awarded a significant consultancy contract for the supervision and maintenance of the four-lane divided highway between Madurai and Chettikulam, a crucial infrastructure link on NH-785 in Tamil Nadu. The project spans from kilometre 0+000 to kilometre 36+690, covering an essential stretch that facilitates daily movement for commuters, transporters and businesses connecting Madurai with central districts.
The contract, valued at approximately Rs 4.59 crore excluding GST, has been formalised through a Letter of Award, marking an important milestone for the company. Artefact Projects will work in collaboration with Renaissance IOT, bringing together technical expertise and supervision capabilities required for the operation and maintenance of a high-traffic national highway.
As part of the assignment, the company will oversee continuous monitoring of the road’s condition, ensure compliance with safety standards, streamline maintenance processes and support smooth functioning along the entire stretch. This includes regular inspections, addressing wear and tear, coordinating corrective measures and ensuring the highway remains fit for movement throughout the contract period.
With increasing vehicle density in the Madurai region and the rising demand for safer, smoother inter-city connectivity, the role of a dedicated supervision consultant is becoming increasingly important. Artefact Projects’ involvement is expected to strengthen on-ground management and enhance the overall performance of the corridor. The company emphasized that its priority will be to ensure minimal disruption for travellers and maintain the quality standards expected for a national highway.
Highway supervision contracts such as this play a vital role in the broader infrastructure development of Tamil Nadu, where improved road networks directly contribute to economic growth, logistics efficiency and regional development. With this project, Artefact Projects continues to expand its presence in the highway consultancy space, supporting India’s ongoing push for better road infrastructure and long-term asset sustainability.
