a major boost to Andhra Pradesh’s capital city project, the National Bank for Financing Infrastructure and Development (NaBFID) has sanctioned a Rs 7,500 crore loan to the Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA). The financial support aims to accelerate the development of key infrastructure in Amaravati, the envisioned world-class capital city of Andhra Pradesh.
The sanctioned funds will be used for major infrastructure works under the Land Pooling Scheme (LPS), covering 29 villages in and around Amaravati. The upcoming projects include the construction of roads, underground drainage systems, water pipelines, and street lighting, ensuring the creation of modern civic amenities and efficient urban infrastructure. According to officials, the development works are set to commence on November 21, marking the next phase in Amaravati’s transformation journey.
The loan was officially handed over during a ceremony attended by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister P Narayana. Speaking at the event, Chief Minister Naidu emphasized that this financial backing from NaBFID will play a crucial role in reviving Amaravati’s capital development plans and providing long-awaited momentum to stalled infrastructure projects.
He added that the NaBFID loan demonstrates strong institutional confidence in Amaravati’s long-term vision as a planned, sustainable, and globally benchmarked capital city. The funding will not only improve physical infrastructure but also enhance connectivity and attract investments to the region.
NaBFID, India’s key infrastructure financing institution, has been actively supporting large-scale urban and transport projects across the country. Its involvement in Amaravati’s development is expected to create a multiplier effect, generating employment and boosting the local economy.
With this strategic funding, the Andhra Pradesh government is set to expedite construction activities and deliver visible progress within the next few months. As works begin later this month, Amaravati is once again emerging as a symbol of planned urban growth and infrastructure excellence.
