Avigna Group’s ₹150-Crore Logistics Park Strengthens Ernakulam’s Position as a Major Logistics Hub

Ernakulam is fast emerging as a strategic hub for the logistics sector in Kerala, with the recent inauguration of Chennai-based Avigna Group’s ₹150-crore state-of-the-art logistics park at Puliyanam in Angamaly. The facility, spread across 21.35 acres with five lakh square feet of built-up space, marks Avigna’s first venture in Kerala and aligns with the company’s plan to expand its presence across South India.

Designed with world-class infrastructure, the Puliyanam logistics park is already home to leading national and global players, including Amazon, DP World, Flipkart, Reckitt, Sony, and Flyjac Logistics. According to company officials, the project has generated nearly 1,500 direct and over 250 indirect employment opportunities, contributing significantly to the local economy.

The development of such large-scale facilities is in line with the Kerala government’s Logistics Policy 2025, which aims to transform the state into a multimodal logistics hub. Industries Minister P. Rajeeve highlighted that projects like Avigna’s are instrumental in boosting industrial growth, attracting investment, and enhancing job creation across the state.

Meanwhile, construction of the Adani Logistics Park at Kalamassery is progressing rapidly. With an investment exceeding ₹600 crore, the Adani project spans 70 acres and features 1.3 million square feet of integrated infrastructure, including smart and sustainable features such as EV charging stations and digitalized “zero-touch” operations. Flipkart has already signed on as an anchor client for the facility, which is expected to create another 1,500 direct jobs and provide new opportunities for small and medium enterprises.

Another major logistics project is under consideration at Edayar, on land previously owned by Edayar Zinc Ltd (formerly Binani Zinc). California-based Panattoni Development Co is expected to take part in this project, which could become the largest logistics facility in Kerala.

Together, these initiatives led by Avigna, Adani, and other investors are poised to reshape Kerala’s logistics landscape, positioning Ernakulam as a key industrial and distribution gateway for South India
