Shyam Metalics’ Ramsarup Industries to Commission Advanced Blast Furnace and Sinter Plant by November 2025

Ramsarup Industries Limited (RIL), a subsidiary of Shyam Metalics and Energy Limited, is set to commission a state-of-the-art blast furnace and linear sinter plant by November 2025. This expansion, involving an investment of approximately Rs 369 crore, marks a major step in strengthening the company’s steel manufacturing capacity and advancing its commitment to sustainable production.

The new blast furnace, with a capacity of 0.45 million tonnes per annum (MTPA), underwent initial heating on Thursday and is scheduled to begin full-scale commercial operations by November 2025. Alongside, the linear sinter plant is expected to be operational by the third week of November, significantly boosting the company’s ability to meet growing demand for high-quality steel across automotive, infrastructure, and engineering sectors.

This facility features cutting-edge technology, including modern coal injection systems, energy recovery mechanisms, and environmentally sustainable processes designed to minimize emissions and enhance energy efficiency. The installation aligns with Shyam Metalics’ long-term focus on adopting advanced manufacturing technologies that reduce environmental impact while ensuring operational excellence.

Speaking on the development, Brij Bhushan Agarwal, Chairman and Managing Director of Shyam Metalics, said, “This project represents a key milestone in our journey toward operational efficiency and sustainable growth. The new facilities will not only expand our production capacity but also help us meet the evolving needs of industries seeking superior-quality steel.”

With India’s steel demand projected to grow steadily, Shyam Metalics’ investment in Ramsarup Industries positions it to play a stronger role in the nation’s infrastructure and manufacturing expansion. The modernized production facilities are expected to improve overall product quality, reduce production costs, and strengthen the company’s competitiveness in both domestic and export markets.

Through this strategic capacity enhancement, Shyam Metalics continues to reinforce its leadership in the steel sector while supporting India’s vision of building a self-reliant and sustainable industrial ecosystem.
