India’s First Women-Centric Housing Project Pre-Launched in Chennai

DAC Developers has pre-launched Prospera by DAC, a first-of-its-kind luxury residential development in Porur, Chennai, as India’s first women-friendly housing community. The project marks a new standard in residential design by responding to the particular requirements of women in comfort, security, and lifestyle.

The pre-launch function, which took place on April 19, saw a huge turnout of more than 4,000 citizens, marking the emerging interest in women-focused city planning. The formal launch is planned for April 25–27.

The project comprises 165 apartments spread across a Stilt + 5-floor layout. Prospera’s standout features include several women-exclusive amenities: a “She-Corner” for relaxation and community-building, a surveillance-enabled crèche with live camera access for working mothers, and a gym designed exclusively for women.

“Prospera is more than just a residential space it’s a statement on inclusive urban living,” said a DAC Developers spokesperson. “Every element has been thoughtfully crafted to ensure safety, functionality, and empowerment for women.”

Alongside its gender-centric innovations, the project has luxury lifestyle elements. Smart facilities such as robot vacuum cleaners are fitted in each apartment, alongside personalisable kitchen layouts. Some units feature private balconies, perfect for recreation or gardening, and the complex has designated areas for yoga, meditation, and learning.

Community-focused additions like a mini theatre and a learning centre further enhance the living experience, supporting the project’s objective of creating a connected and supportive community.

Prospera reflects a growing trend in real estate toward inclusive and niche residential offerings, with DAC Developers aiming to lead the charge in women-first housing across the country.
