Telangana to Host First International Technology and Industrial Park with Taiwanese Investment

Taiwan-based Allegiance Group has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Telangana government to set up its FIRST International Technology and Industrial Park (ITIP) probably in the ‘Future City’ in a big boost to the state’s industrial landscape. The proposal is geared toward developing economic relations between Taiwan and India, as well as encouraging high-tech manufacturing capabilities in the region.

The signing of these Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) took place in Taipei at a star-studded signing event that attracted electronics, solar energy, and advanced manufacturing firms, with a total of eleven companies affirming the project. It is likely to bring in ₹2,000 crore (about $231.2 million) in Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) from Taiwan through the park at the same time creating as many as 1,00,000 direct and indirect jobs in Telangana.

On the occasion, Allegiance Group Chairman Simon Lee spoke about the strong industrial ecosystem and talented workforce available in the State of Telangana. “Telangana has many high-tech industries and a great talent pool. “Our goal is to create a successful ecosystem for industrial collaboration by combining Taiwan’s advanced manufacturing know-how with India’s skilled labour,” he added.

Along with the industrial park, Allegiance Group, in partnership with the Telangana government, shall also develop Formosa Town India’s first dedicated township for the Taiwanese community. The project will create a comfortable living condition for Taiwanese overseas students, promoting broader business and cultural exchanges between the two areas.

The signing ceremony was attended by TCCIN (Taiwan Chamber of Commerce in India), Telangana government, and ITA (India Taipei Association) representative to witness the importance of this developmental collaboration towards mutual growth and enhancement of bilateral ties between Taiwan and Telangana to industrial landscape.

The landmark investment will establish Telangana as a global destination for advanced manufacturing and technology, bolstering India’s role in the global supply chain.
