Taj GVK Hotels and Resorts has announced that its upcoming Taj Yelahanka hotel in Bengaluru is expected to commence operations by September 2026, subject to receiving the necessary regulatory approvals. The project marks a significant addition to the premium hospitality landscape of North Bengaluru, one of the fastest growing business and infrastructure corridors in the country.

The luxury hotel will feature 256 rooms and is strategically located in the rapidly developing Yelahanka region. The property is expected to cater to a diverse mix of guests, including corporate travellers, participants attending meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions, as well as leisure tourists visiting Bengaluru.

North Bengaluru has emerged as a major growth hub over the past few years, driven by the expansion of technology parks, business districts, industrial developments and improved connectivity through major infrastructure projects. The region’s proximity to Kempegowda International Airport has further enhanced its attractiveness for hospitality investments.

According to the company, the project aligns with its long term strategy of expanding its premium hospitality portfolio across key growth markets in India. Beyond the existing three acre development site, Taj GVK also owns an adjoining four acre parcel of land that could be utilised for a future expansion phase. This additional development potential could transform the property into one of the landmark hospitality destinations in North Bengaluru.

Krishna Bhupal, Joint Managing Director of Taj GVK Hotels and Resorts, highlighted the importance of the project in strengthening the company’s room inventory and supporting future growth plans. The company already operates several prominent hospitality properties across Hyderabad, Chennai, Chandigarh and Bengaluru.

Industry observers believe the new hotel will benefit from increasing demand for high quality accommodation in North Bengaluru, particularly from business travellers linked to the region’s expanding technology, manufacturing and commercial sectors.

With luxury hospitality demand continuing to rise, the launch of Taj Yelahanka is expected to further strengthen Bengaluru’s position as a leading destination for business, events and leisure tourism in South India.
