Sandbox to Build 30,000-sq. ft. Mini-Tech Park at Kozhikode Cyberpark to Boost Kerala’s Startup Ecosystem

Sandbox, a Kerala-based technology and workspace solutions firm, has announced plans to establish a 30,000-square-foot Mini-Tech Park within the Government Cyberpark in Kozhikode. The upcoming facility will be developed on leased land from Kerala State IT Infrastructure Ltd and is expected to accommodate around 600 professionals.

The new Mini-Tech Park aims to strengthen the Malabar region’s growing technology ecosystem by catering to startups, small and medium enterprises (SMEs), and independent IT professionals. Designed with flexibility and innovation in mind, the project will feature AI-enabled workspaces, private offices, collaborative incubation zones, meeting rooms, and a café-cum-lounge — creating an ideal environment for creative and tech-driven collaboration.

Cyberpark officials described the project as a significant step toward positioning Kozhikode as a prominent tech hub in Kerala. The development aligns with the state’s ambition to expand its presence in the Global Capability Centre (GCC) sector, attracting both domestic and international technology companies. By fostering innovation and entrepreneurship, the Mini-Tech Park will complement the Kerala Startup Mission campus already operating within Cyberpark.

Sandbox’s leadership emphasized that the project is part of a larger vision to offer smart, adaptable, and affordable infrastructure that can meet the dynamic needs of emerging tech ventures. The Mini-Tech Park will serve as a model for sustainable and private-sector-driven IT infrastructure development in Kerala, setting a benchmark for similar mid-scale tech parks in other cities across the state.

With Kozhikode steadily emerging as one of Kerala’s fastest-growing technology destinations, this project represents a timely investment in the region’s future. It also reflects the state government’s proactive approach to nurturing innovation and digital growth beyond traditional tech hubs like Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram.

Once completed, the Sandbox Mini-Tech Park is expected to attract start-ups and tech innovators from across South India, reinforcing Kerala’s position as an inclusive, innovation-friendly state committed to building a robust digital economy.
