JSPL to Upgrade Steckel Mill with Danieli’s Advanced Cooling Technology

Indian steel producer Jindal Steel and Power Limited has opted to modernize its Steckel mill in Raigarh, India. It has chosen Italian plant maker Danieli to introduce the advanced Exstream II cooling solution into its operations.

The Exstream II is one of the modern cooling systems through which there will be flexibility in the production of a wide array of high-value steel products. This process especially finds use in the manufacture of high-strength steel and plate steels with many mechanical properties. The new process will further aid in productivity improvements by having alloy elements when there is production, thereby eventually promoting weldability for final products.

This upgrade is in line with JSPL’s efforts to increase productivity and reduce production costs while enhancing the quality of its steel products. The Exstream II cooling solution, designed and manufactured by Danieli, will be produced in their local workshops in India, further supporting the country’s industrial growth.
