Jindal India Commissions New High-Speed Colour Coating Line Supplied By John Cockerill

Jindal India has commissioned a new high-speed colour coating line supplied by John Cockerill, marking an important capacity and technology addition to its steel processing operations. The facility produced its first prime colour-coated coil, confirming the successful commissioning of the line and strengthening Jindal India’s position in the value-added steel products segment.

The project was completed in just 15 months from groundbreaking to commissioning, making it one of the fastest executions of a colour coating line of this scale in recent years. The achievement reflects coordinated project planning, technology integration and execution capabilities from both Jindal India and John Cockerill.

The newly commissioned line has an annual capacity of 2.75 LTPA and can operate at process speeds of up to 180 m/min. It is equipped with John Cockerill’s latest-generation paint coater technology, which is designed to deliver superior coating accuracy, high surface quality and improved operating efficiency. The line also supports enhanced environmental performance, an increasingly important requirement in modern steel processing facilities.

Colour-coated steel products are widely used across roofing, cladding, appliances, industrial buildings, infrastructure projects and other construction applications. With demand for durable and visually finished steel products growing in India, the new facility is expected to support Jindal India’s ability to serve customers across multiple end-use sectors.

This is the third colour coating line supplied by John Cockerill to Jindal India. The development also highlights the long-standing technology partnership between the two companies, with all of Jindal India’s colour coating lines designed and delivered by John Cockerill.
