P&C Projects, an Erode-based construction firm, won the contract for a large government housing project in Chennai as the lowest (L1) bidder, a milestone achievement for the company in public infrastructure work.

The Tamil Nadu Police Housing Corporation (TNPHC) floated the tender on March 13, 2025, for the construction of 896 quarters of Police Constables (PCs) and Head Constables (HCs) at the Mansion Site in Chennai city. The massive development is under the Chief Minister’s Announcement Scheme, looking to enhance the living conditions for police personnel.

The housing scheme has an estimated cost of ₹300 crore, one of the biggest recent initiatives of TNPHC in the capital city. Bids for financing the project were opened on May 22, 2025, when P&C Projects led the way with a competitive bid of ₹299.75 crore, marginally below the government estimate but achieving the L1 position.

This victory further entrenches P&C Projects’ increasing presence in the public infrastructure segment of Tamil Nadu, particularly in the area of institutional and residential projects. Once approved, the project would provide much-needed housing respite to the police force of Chennai and will likely kick-start operations shortly after standard award protocols are finalized.

The TNPHC remains at the forefront of augmenting the welfare infrastructure for police officers throughout Tamil Nadu, and this new project is proof of the state government’s ongoing commitment to its law enforcement officers’ safety and well-being.

With this project, everyone’s eyes will now be on how quickly the construction moves, with hopes running high for timely completion and quality work.
