CASE Construction Equipment, the India arm of UK based CNH Industrial, is sharpening its focus on the Indian market as expectations of higher infrastructure spending gather momentum ahead of the Union Budget. The company believes a renewed push in public capital expenditure will revive demand for construction equipment after a challenging year for the sector.
According to the company, the construction equipment industry witnessed a slowdown last year, with volumes declining between 10 and 15 percent across segments due to lower activity and an extended monsoon. However, CASE expects the sector to rebound in the current year, supported by higher government spending on roads, urban infrastructure and public works.
Shalabh Chaturvedi, Managing Director of CASE Construction Equipment India and SAARC, said the company is targeting growth close to 10 percent, outpacing the broader industry, which is expected to grow at mid single digit levels. He added that stronger farmer incomes and improving sentiment in rural and semi urban markets are also likely to support demand.
India remains one of CASE’s most important global markets, second only to the United States.
CNH operates four entities in the country, spanning agriculture, construction equipment, financial services and a global capability centre, with combined revenues of nearly one billion dollars. Globally, CNH generates around 20 billion dollars in revenue.
Reinforcing its long term commitment, CASE recently opened a new company owned and operated brandstore in Tiruchirappalli, following an earlier launch in Delhi. The Trichy facility strengthens the company’s reach across Tamil Nadu and neighbouring regions, including Ariyalur, Perambalur, Thanjavur, Madurai and Tirunelveli.
Spread across 5,300 square feet, the brandstore features service bays, a dedicated workshop and a warehouse stocking around 700 parts lines. It is supported by trained service engineers, service vans and advanced diagnostic tools, aimed at improving uptime and customer experience.
CASE has been present in India since 1989 and continues to hold a leadership position in the vibratory compactor segment, while remaining a strong player in backhoe loaders. The company believes sustained infrastructure investment and regional expansion will anchor its growth in India over the coming years.
