Century Plyboards Commissions Resin Manufacturing Unit in Andhra Pradesh to Strengthen Southern Market Supply Chain

Century Plyboards (India) Ltd has officially commissioned its new resin manufacturing facility at Naidupetta in Andhra Pradesh, marking an important step in the company’s strategy to strengthen its manufacturing ecosystem and improve supply chain efficiency across southern India.

The facility is being operated by Century Adhesives & Chemicals Ltd, a step-down subsidiary of Century Plyboards. Resin is one of the most critical raw materials used in the production of plywood, laminates, and other wood panel products, serving as the primary bonding agent that determines durability and product performance.

With the commissioning of the Naidupetta plant, Century Plyboards aims to ensure a stable and reliable supply of resin for its manufacturing operations while reducing dependence on external suppliers. The move is expected to improve operational control, enhance product quality consistency, and support the company’s expanding presence in southern markets.

The investment comes at a time when demand for plywood, laminates, and interior building materials continues to rise, supported by growth in the housing, construction, and real estate sectors. South India remains one of the key growth regions for the wood panel industry, driven by increasing residential developments, commercial projects, and infrastructure investments.

Century Plyboards has reported strong financial performance over the past year. The company recorded operating revenue of ₹5,397.18 crore over the trailing twelve months, reflecting annual growth of more than 19 percent. Net profit reached ₹262.7 crore, representing a growth of nearly 42 percent compared to the previous year.

Industry experts believe that backward integration into resin manufacturing can help companies improve cost efficiency, reduce procurement risks, and protect margins from fluctuations in chemical raw material prices. This becomes particularly important as global supply chains continue to face periodic volatility.

The commissioning of the Andhra Pradesh facility also aligns with Century Plyboards’ long-term expansion plans and reinforces its commitment to strengthening domestic manufacturing capabilities. As construction activity and housing demand continue to grow across India, the company is positioning itself to meet increasing market requirements while enhancing operational resilience and supply chain reliability.
