Driver Logistics Expands Tyre Distribution Network With Visakhapatnam Hub

Driver Logistics has started operations at an 80,000 sq. ft. warehouse in Visakhapatnam, expanding its logistics network for ATC Tires AP Pvt. Ltd., a company belonging to the Yokohama Group. The facility will serve as a mother hub for storing and distributing passenger car tyres and off-highway tyre brands used across agricultural, construction, industrial and forestry applications.

The new centre strengthens the company’s presence in Andhra Pradesh and adds a distribution point along India’s eastern coastal trade corridor. Its location is expected to support domestic supply chains and export-related logistics while improving access to industrial and manufacturing markets in the region.

Supporting Passenger Car and Off-Highway Tyre Distribution

The warehouse will handle Yokohama passenger car tyres alongside ALLIANCE, GALAXY and PRIMEX off-highway tyres. These products serve a range of applications, from agricultural machinery and construction equipment to industrial vehicles and forestry operations.

The facility is designed to support storage and wider distribution requirements, helping connect tyre supplies with dealers and customers across the region. Its operations also reflect the growing importance of organised warehousing as industrial activity and infrastructure development create demand for reliable freight and distribution services.

Expanding an Existing Yokohama Partnership

Driver Logistics was already managing passenger car tyre distribution for Yokohama across eight facilities in Kerala, Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Gujarat. Its existing network uses a partial-truckload transportation model to deliver products directly to dealers.

The Visakhapatnam hub extends this relationship beyond regional storage and distribution towards a larger mother-hub operation covering both passenger car and off-highway tyres. According to Driver Logistics Chief Operating Officer Rashad M, the expansion represents a deeper collaboration with ATC Tires and Yokohama India.

Visakhapatnam’s Growing Logistics Role

Visakhapatnam’s port connectivity, industrial base and position along the eastern coast make it an important location for logistics and manufacturing-linked distribution. A dedicated tyre hub can help consolidate inventory and coordinate supplies to different customer segments, although its actual impact will depend on demand, transport efficiency and utilisation.

Driver Logistics is also looking to expand into in-plant logistics, combining factory logistics services with technology-enabled transportation and shipment tracking. The company’s broader plans point towards integrated supply-chain services that connect manufacturing facilities, warehouses and distribution networks.

The Visakhapatnam launch adds capacity to the regional logistics network supporting India’s automotive and industrial sectors, while extending Driver Logistics’ role in the distribution of Yokohama Group products.
