Royal Enfield to Invest ₹2,200 Crore in Andhra Pradesh Manufacturing Facility

Royal Enfield has announced a major investment of ₹2,200 crore in Andhra Pradesh for setting up a new manufacturing facility in Tirupati district, marking the company’s first major expansion outside Tamil Nadu since its inception in 1901. The project is expected to strengthen Andhra Pradesh’s position as an emerging automobile manufacturing hub while supporting industrial growth and employment generation in the region.

The motorcycle manufacturer will establish the facility in two phases at Satyavedu mandal near the Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu border. Once operational, the plant will add nearly 9 lakh units to Royal Enfield’s annual production capacity. The investment proposal recently received approval from the Andhra Pradesh State Investment Promotion Board during a meeting chaired by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.

The Andhra Pradesh government has allocated around 267 acres of land in Vanelluru and Rallakuppam villages for the project. According to officials, the facility is expected to create nearly 5,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities, benefiting local communities and boosting ancillary industries around Tirupati district.

Apart from the core manufacturing facility, the first phase of the project will also include a dedicated vendor park designed to bring suppliers and component manufacturers closer to the production ecosystem. Industry experts believe this development could accelerate the growth of a strong automotive manufacturing cluster in southern Andhra Pradesh.

The first phase of the facility is expected to be completed by 2029, while the second phase is targeted for completion by 2032. Andhra Pradesh Minister Nara Lokesh said the investment reflects the state’s improving infrastructure, business-friendly policies, and strong industrial ecosystem.

Royal Enfield’s upcoming facility is also expected to strengthen India’s ambitions of becoming a global manufacturing hub for premium motorcycles. With demand for Royal Enfield motorcycles continuing to grow in both domestic and international markets, the Andhra Pradesh plant will play a key role in expanding production capacity and strengthening the company’s manufacturing network in South India.
