Chennai-based real estate developer DRA has taken a significant step towards digital transformation by entering into a strategic partnership with US-based Slate Technologies Inc. The collaboration will bring Slate AI, an advanced construction intelligence platform, into DRA’s ongoing and upcoming projects in Chennai. This move highlights a growing shift in the Indian construction sector towards technology-led execution and smarter project management.

Currently, the AI platform is being deployed across DRA projects covering nearly 3.3 million square feet. The system is supporting close to 2,000 on-site workers along with more than 100 technical professionals. By integrating artificial intelligence into key functions such as project management, quality checks, site monitoring, procurement planning, safety tracking, and delay prediction, DRA aims to significantly enhance operational efficiency.

The platform enables real-time insights and predictive analytics, allowing developers to move beyond traditional reporting methods. Instead of reacting to delays or inefficiencies, teams can proactively address issues before they escalate. This approach is expected to reduce cost overruns and improve overall project delivery timelines.

According to the company, the implementation of Slate AI will help forecast resource requirements more accurately, including manpower, materials, and timelines. The full-scale rollout of all AI modules is targeted for completion by December 2026.

The partnership also reflects a broader industry trend where developers are embracing digital tools to manage increasing project complexity. Despite concerns around automation, DRA maintains that AI will complement human effort by improving workforce productivity rather than replacing jobs.

As Chennai continues to witness steady real estate growth, the adoption of AI-driven construction practices is likely to set new benchmarks in project execution, quality, and efficiency. DRA’s collaboration with Slate Technologies positions the company at the forefront of this transformation, reinforcing its commitment to innovation in the construction sector.
