Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has directed officials to take immediate steps to strengthen road connectivity across Hyderabad as part of the government’s broader plan to reduce congestion and move towards transforming the city into a traffic-free urban centre.

The chief minister issued the instructions during a high level review meeting on road infrastructure held in Hyderabad. Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy also attended the meeting along with senior officials from various departments involved in infrastructure development.

During the review, the chief minister asked officials to begin road development works without delay in areas that have already been identified for improvement. He emphasised that better coordination among government departments is essential to ensure smooth execution of projects.

Revanth Reddy instructed officials to conduct joint review meetings with the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation and the Revenue Department to streamline administrative processes and remove bottlenecks that often delay infrastructure works. He also called for the formulation of a clear policy framework to ensure faster approvals and efficient implementation of road projects.

In addition to focusing on Hyderabad, the chief minister asked officials to study the feasibility of developing ring roads around major district headquarters across Telangana. These proposed ring roads could be linked with national highways and state highways to improve regional connectivity and support economic growth.

Officials were also asked to prepare detailed and comprehensive road development plans aligned with the Road Sector Policy 2047. According to the chief minister, the state’s road infrastructure must be developed in such a way that people can travel from Hyderabad to any part of Telangana within a predictable and reasonable timeframe.

Alongside the review of road infrastructure, Revanth Reddy also assessed the progress of healthcare infrastructure projects in the state. He directed officials to expedite the construction of teaching hospitals and major medical facilities so that improved healthcare services can be made available to the public, especially the underprivileged and vulnerable sections of society.

The government believes that faster development of roads and healthcare infrastructure will significantly enhance urban mobility, regional connectivity and public service delivery across Telangana.
