JSW Cement Ltd reported a strong financial turnaround in the December quarter of FY26, posting a net profit of Rs 130.62 crore, compared with a loss of Rs 80.22 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. The improved performance was driven by higher sales volumes, better operating efficiencies and a sharp improvement in earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation.

Revenue from operations during the quarter rose 13.15 percent year-on-year to Rs 1,621.22 crore, reflecting increased demand across key markets. The company said revenue growth was primarily driven by higher volumes, even as cement realisations softened on a sequential basis.

Operating EBITDA for the quarter improved 31.5 percent year-on-year to Rs 285.1 crore, translating to an EBITDA of Rs 802 per tonne. JSW Cement attributed the margin expansion to better cost management, operational efficiencies and improved plant performance. Profit before exceptional items and tax stood at Rs 217.95 crore during the quarter.

The company reported an exceptional loss of Rs 33.66 crore in Q3 FY26, largely linked to the implementation of new labour codes. Despite this one-time impact, overall profitability remained strong due to robust operating performance.

Sales volumes during the quarter increased 3.56 percent to 3.56 million tonnes, compared with 3.12 million tonnes in the year-ago period. However, cement realisations declined 3.9 percent quarter-on-quarter, reflecting competitive pricing conditions in certain regions.

Total expenses rose marginally by 1.52 percent to Rs 1,504.10 crore. The company noted that input costs increased slightly due to higher blended fuel costs and increased inter-plant transfer of raw materials. Total income, including other income, rose 16.84 percent to Rs 1,707.36 crore.

JSW Cement’s net debt stood at Rs 3,557 crore as of December 2025. During the quarter, the company incurred capital expenditure of Rs 491 crore. As of December 31, 2025, JSW Cement had a grinding capacity of 21.60 million tonnes per annum and continues to work towards its long-term expansion plan of achieving 41.85 MTPA grinding capacity and 13.04 MTPA clinker capacity across India.
