JCB India will be on a high double-digit growth trajectory with a new range of construction equipment launching with Stage 5 emission norms. The improved machines will generate significant operational efficiency savings and offer customers improved productivity.
Deepak Shetty, CEO and Managing Director of JCB India, spoke at the launch event to say that the new range was much more fuel-efficient, thus cutting down fuel expenses by up to Rs 18.5 lakh over five years. “These machines offer fuel savings ranging from 10 to 15 percent, along with reduced maintenance costs.” This will lead to a lower total cost of ownership for operators,” Shetty said.
The launch also marks the end of older models, though JCB will support existing machines through their operational life. The new equipment is also designed with advanced safety features such as Roll-overprotective Structure (ROPS) technology, in case the machine rolls over.
Apart from fuel savings, the new Stage 5 machines are designed to meet the latest emission standards. Shetty explained that the savings could vary across different machine types, with one loader model alone offering Rs 18.5 lakh in fuel savings over five years, accounting for around 30% of the equipment’s total cost. Despite the higher costs associated with the new emission norms, JCB has managed to keep price increases relatively low, with an increment of just 3.5-4 percent, well below the traditional 8 percent rise in the industry.
JCB also introduced its first hydrogen fuel-based heavy machinery, in line with India’s National Hydrogen Mission. Shetty expressed confidence that as the country’s hydrogen infrastructure develops, JCB will be ready to offer machines that use alternative fuels, moving away from traditional diesel dependence.
The company’s growth is further supported by India’s infrastructure development focus. “The government’s push for infrastructure growth has been a key driver for our double-digit growth over the past years, and we expect this momentum to continue,” Shetty added.
In a bid to enhance workforce training, JCB unveiled its VR-based simulator, Daksh, for operator training across India, which will help reduce training costs. Additionally, JCB has entered into a partnership with Shriram Automall India Limited (SAMIL) to manage the sale of pre-owned certified JCB machines efficiently.
