Karnataka has attracted fresh manufacturing investments worth ₹300 crore, with pharmaceutical major Cipla and French agro-processing company Roquette India announcing expansion plans for their existing facilities in the state. The investments were announced during the Karnataka government’s investment roadshow in Mumbai, reinforcing the state’s position as a preferred destination for industrial growth and advanced manufacturing.

Cipla will invest ₹200 crore to expand its manufacturing facility at Bommasandra in Bengaluru. The expansion project has already commenced, and production at the upgraded facility is expected to begin by December 2026. The additional capacity is expected to strengthen the company’s pharmaceutical manufacturing operations while supporting Karnataka’s growing life sciences ecosystem.

Roquette India has also announced an investment of ₹100 crore to expand its manufacturing plant at Gokak in Belagavi district. The expansion will strengthen the company’s production capabilities in northern Karnataka and further enhance the region’s industrial base. The investment is also expected to create new employment opportunities while supporting the state’s food processing and agro-industrial sectors.

The announcements came during the second day of Karnataka’s two-day investment roadshow led by Minister for Large and Medium Industries M.B. Patil. The state government held meetings with several leading domestic and global companies to showcase investment opportunities across manufacturing, infrastructure, renewable energy, digital infrastructure and technology sectors.

Besides the confirmed investments, global investment firm Blackstone expressed interest in opportunities related to data centres, renewable energy and fibre-optic infrastructure in Karnataka. French multinational Saint-Gobain is also evaluating the expansion of its manufacturing facilities in the state, with the government identifying suitable land parcels for the proposed project.

The government further encouraged Horizon to explore investments in Karnataka’s Tier-2 cities by developing plug-and-play industrial infrastructure. Such projects are expected to promote balanced industrial development beyond Bengaluru and improve manufacturing capacity across different regions of the state.

With fresh commitments from established global companies and continued engagement with international investors, Karnataka is strengthening its manufacturing ecosystem and expanding opportunities across pharmaceuticals, food processing, infrastructure and advanced industries. The latest investments reflect the state’s continued focus on attracting high-value projects that support long-term industrial growth, employment generation and regional economic development.
