Surya Roshni Ltd has unveiled an ambitious Rs 1,800 crore expansion plan to strengthen its presence across multiple verticals, including lighting, fans, home appliances, steel, and PVC pipes. Out of this total investment, Rs 500 crore has been earmarked for Madhya Pradesh, with a strategic focus on the Gwalior–Chambal region. This move marks a major step in the company’s efforts to enhance production capacity, improve operational efficiency, and expand its retail and distribution network across Central India.
Over the past three years, Surya Roshni has already invested around Rs 150 crore in Madhya Pradesh, with an additional Rs 300 crore currently under implementation. The fresh Rs 500 crore allocation will help establish new manufacturing capacities and strengthen the company’s supply chain, ensuring faster market access and better inventory management. The Malanpur and Kashipur plants, which already operate with solar power, will play a key role in supporting sustainable and energy-efficient production.
The company’s expansion also includes new product lines such as Miniature Circuit Breakers (MCBs) and other electrical protection devices, complementing its existing portfolio of wires, cables, lighting, and appliances. This strategic diversification positions Surya Roshni as a full-range electrical solutions provider, enhancing both consumer convenience and retailer profitability. With a wider range of SKUs under one brand, the company aims to deliver reliable, easily replaceable, and energy-efficient solutions for households and businesses alike.
Vasumitra Pandey, CEO – Lighting and Consumer Durables, stated that Surya Roshni’s mission is to combine innovation with sustainability. He emphasized that the company is not only expanding its manufacturing footprint but also focusing on social responsibility by adopting 120 villages to empower women through employment opportunities.
By scaling up in Madhya Pradesh and other regions, Surya Roshni is expected to improve supply chain efficiency, reduce energy costs, and strengthen its position in India’s fast-growing consumer electrical and building materials markets. The expansion underscores its long-term commitment to responsible growth and product excellence across every segment it serves.
