Shyam Metalics and Energy Ltd have shown strong YoY growth in February 2025 for sales of stainless steels and aluminium foils, aided by improved demand and pricing. But monthly sales fell across major segments, in part because February was a shorter trading month.
It also registered a 110% YoY increase in gleaming steel sales at 8,552 metric tons (M) and a 10% YoY increase in realizations (at ₹1.29 lakh per M). Although YoY was up sharply, sales fell 5% vs January, while realizations rose 3% MoM.
Aluminium foil sales were up 23% YoY at 1,686 MT, while realisation surged 13% YoY to ₹3.52 lakh per MT but on an MoM basis, sales were down by 14%, though pricing moved up 3%.
The company’s specialty alloys segment was relatively stable, with modest 0.44% YoY sales growth and a 2% YoY decline in realisations. Sales compensated with a 2% MoM improvement compared to January, though realisations rose only marginally by 0.16%.
In contrast, carbon steel registered a 5 percent YoY fall in sales and realisations fell by 0.41 percent. On an MoM basis, the segment took a more significant hit with a 17.74% sales drop, but pricing was somewhat better with a 1% improvement.
Investor sentiment remained strong despite mixed sales performance. On the BSE, Shyam Metalics stock rose 8.82% to close at ₹825 on Friday ahead of the business update.
