Shree Cement Limited has commissioned a 3.50 million tonnes per annum cement mill at its integrated cement plant in Kodla, located in Kalaburagi district of Karnataka. The development marks the completion of key operational components of the facility and significantly strengthens the company’s manufacturing footprint in southern India.
The commissioning of the cement mill follows the earlier start-up of the plant’s clinkerisation unit, which became operational in February 2026. With both units now functional, the Kodla facility has moved into full-scale integrated operations, enabling the company to enhance production efficiency and supply capabilities.
Through process optimisation and equipment improvements, Shree Cement has been able to raise the final cement capacity of the Kodla unit to 3.50 MTPA. The capacity expansion exceeds the original planned capacity of 3.0 MTPA, reflecting improved operational efficiency and advanced plant performance.
With the addition of the new cement mill, the total cement production capacity of the Kodla plant has now reached 6.50 MTPA. The plant plays an important role in strengthening Shree Cement’s presence in the southern market, where infrastructure development, housing demand and industrial expansion continue to drive cement consumption.
Kalaburagi district has emerged as a major cement manufacturing hub in Karnataka due to its abundant limestone reserves and strong connectivity to key construction markets across southern India. The commissioning of the expanded facility further supports the region’s position as an important centre for cement production.
Shree Cement is among India’s leading cement producers and continues to expand its manufacturing network to meet growing demand from infrastructure, real estate and industrial sectors. With the latest commissioning, the company’s total cement production capacity in India has reached nearly 70 million tonnes per annum.
The expansion also aligns with the broader growth trajectory of the Indian cement sector, which is expected to see steady demand driven by large infrastructure projects, urban development and government-led investment in roads, railways and housing.
The company has formally disclosed this development under Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements), Regulations, 2015, ensuring transparency with stakeholders regarding this significant operational milestone.
