Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) has received a large road construction order worth ₹554.64 crore from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI). The project includes a 6-lane (with an 8-lane at some sections) access-controlled greenfield highway for which Andhra Pradesh will work on road connectivity improvement.
Connecting to Visakhapatnam Port Road to Sabbavaram bypass along the Anakapalli-Anandapuram corridor, the new road will connect Visakhapatnam Port Road to the Sabbavaram bypass along the Anakapalli-Anandapuram corridor. Its total length will be up to Sheelanagar Junction (Km 12.660) of NH-516C, which is important for transportation efficiency in the area.
RVNL posted the lowest bid (L1) for the project, which will be built under the hybrid annuity mode (HAM) under the National Highways (O) scheme. The works will be completed in 24 months which will substantially enhance the logistics and trade route of the Visakhapatnam port area.
The award of the contract is a growing testament to the role played by RVNL in the development of India’s infrastructure and the engineering excellence with which it delivers large-scale transportation projects.
