Pullman Chennai Debuts on Anna Salai After Rs 100 Crore Revamp

Pullman Hotels

The iconic Raintree Hotel on Anna Salai has undergone a Rs 100 crore transformation, emerging as Pullman Chennai, a luxury offering from French hospitality major Accor. This marks South India’s first Pullman hotel and the second in India, following the Delhi property launched in 2014.

Ceebros Group’s Managing Director C Subba Reddy highlighted that while the structure remains, nearly all interiors have been upgraded to reflect a premium experience. A key focus is catering to Korean and Japanese guests, incorporating home-style cooking options to meet their preferences.

Gareth Simmons, Chief Operating Officer of Accor Asia, underscored the brand’s ambitious expansion plans, including forays into Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities across India. While financial specifics were not disclosed, Simmons emphasized Accor’s strong growth strategy in the country’s luxury hospitality sector.

Spanning 5,000 square meters, Pullman Chennai boasts 232 opulent rooms and cutting-edge amenities, setting new benchmarks in upscale hospitality. The transformation also signifies the end of Raintree Hotel in Teynampet, which ceased operations in February 2023. However, the Raintree Hotel on St. Mary’s Road will continue under its existing name.

The Pullman brand’s entry into Chennai underscores the city’s growing appeal as a luxury hospitality hub, reinforcing its status as a preferred destination for global travelers.
